REDUCED is thrilled to announce a strategic partnership with the WELDING Group, a leading distributor in the food ingredient sector.

This collaboration aims to introduce REDUCED’s natural and organic products to the food industries in the DACH region (Germany, Austria, and Switzerland) and France, paving the way for significant advancements in the utilisation of production side streams and ingredient innovation.

The global market for products derived from surplus food, valued at 52.91 billion USD in 2022, is on track to grow at a CAGR of 4.6%, reaching 83.26 billion USD by 2032. The partnership between REDUCED and WELDING comes at a crucial time, responding to the heightened demand for sustainable and innovative upcycled ingredients in food production.

Founded in 2020, REDUCED has been tackling the challenges of the global food industry with its unique focus on creating high-quality ingredients from food production side streams. The company has invested in cutting-edge production facilities in Copenhagen’s North Harbor and collaborated closely with the University of Copenhagen to advance their product development. REDUCED’s products are distinguished by their rich, natural and organic flavours and organic traceability, making them ideal for flavour creation without the need for artificial additives.

“Our mission is to utilise surplus produce by developing ingredients that are competitive with more traditional flavour solutions while offering unique taste profiles and sustainability benefits. Our collaboration with WELDING will enable us to reach new markets and further our impact on limiting the food industry’s carbon emission and food loss impact,” says Emil Munck de Voss, Co-founder of REDUCED. “WELDING’s extensive experience in the food ingredients industry, combined with their robust distribution network, makes them an ideal partner for us.”

WELDING, a privately-held company with a strong presence in the pharmaceutical, food, feed, and veterinary sectors, is equally enthusiastic about the partnership.

"The partnership with REDUCED from Copenhagen is of great importance to us at WELDING. Together, we are dedicated to bringing high-quality, delicious, and sustainable certified organic products to the market, shaping the future of the food industry. We are excited about the synergies and successes that will result from this collaboration and the positive impact it will have on the organic sector," says Stephan Busche, Head of Applications & Sales / Food Additives at WELDING.

The collaboration will officially launch in September 2024, focusing on distributing REDUCED's innovative and flavourful upcycled ingredients across the DACH region and France, targeting food manufacturers seeking sustainable solutions.
